In previous editions of this magazine, we have dwelt on various aspects of the fear of God especially in ways they relate to revival. In this edition, we will be considering som犀利士5mg e covenants you automatically enter into with God, when you fear Him.
What is a covenant?
A covenant is a formal, solemn, and binding agreement between two parties.
So, if God says, as long as you fear Me, I will continue to bless you, that has become a covenant, not just a promise.
Now, humans make covenants all the time and we often break them but the most wonderful thing about a covenant between you and God is that He is sure not to break His covenant with you as He is forever faithful.
If you see that you have gone outside the lines of the covenant, you should ask for mercy and grace under the blood of Jesus and you will be forgiven, but be rest assured, God did not break His end of the covenant even when you were unfaithful. Hallelujah!!
Having understood what a covenant is, let us now consider some of the covenants of the fear of the Lord.
SOME COVENANT OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD
1. The Covenant of Life
Malachi 2:5-6
My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me and was afraid before my name.
The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.
In the scripture above, we see that God gives unto the man who fears Him, a covenant of life.
The fear of God was not just in his heart but in his actions, when he spoke, he spoke the truth, even his walk was of the fear of God and he did turn many from iniquity. What a man!. If you desire a long and fulfilling life, let everything you do stem from the fear of God.
2. The Covenant of Peace
Isaiah 54:10
For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
Ezekiel 34:25
And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
This covenant was established with Noah, for he was a man that feared God. When God instructed the building of the ark and the warning of the flood, he did exactly as commanded; He did not turn to the left or the right. Noah feared God, and so, God gave him the covenant of peace.
This covenant did not expire with Noah. You too can partake of the covenant of peace, if you begin to look into your life, and live in obedience and in the fear of God, and just like Noah had peace in a time when the whole world was being swept away, so will you experience a covenanted peace, no matter the situation of the World!
3. Covenant of Mercy
Psalms 103:11
For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
Psalms 147:11
The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Mercy means though you were deserving of judgement, God can take you out and justify you.
“Malachi 3:17
And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.”
A man that fears God enjoys the mercies of God! He is never trapped or under, whether legally or otherwise!
The remarkable thing about fearing God is that when you fear God, you fear nothing else.
Oswald Chambers
A man being wrong can be made right by God, who is the highest judge in the entire world. Such is the path of a man that fears God. Why not bring yourself and your generation into such a covenanted place with God by living in the fear of God? Hallelujah!
4. The Covenant of Deliverance.
Psalms 33:18-19
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear Him…To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
The fear of God brings you into a covenant of deliverance.
A man that fears God cannot be held bound and oppressed by the devil, he is sure to be delivered by God. Glory to God!!
All these are God’s covenants to a man that fears Him.
You need not look for deliverance, mercy, peace, and life from elsewhere, they are all in your fear of God! If any of these is lacking in your life, examine your life for the fear of God and if it is not found, begin to pray and deliberately think and act in the light of God’s word, and soon enough, the fear of God will be revealed and cultivated in your spirit and propel your every action. Glory to God!! Hallelujah!
“The learning of the Christian man ought to begin with the fear of God.”
Thomas Cranmer
