must fear God and how all these relates to both our personal and communal revival, but it In the last two editions of the Revival Post, we began to contextualize and examine what the fear of God is, how it relates to our Christian lives, our spiritual growth and also reasons why we doesn’t all end there. In relating with God in fear, we must also understand the operations of the fear of God. How do I know the fear of God is operational in me? What are some of the things that are activated in my life as I begin to walk in the fear of God? We will be examining some of these operations of the fear of God.
1.The fear of God activates wisdom and understanding.
Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
When we begin to walk in the fear of God, we begin to walk in wisdom and understanding.
He opens up our minds and spirits to all wisdom and to all understanding.
2.The fear of God activates hatred for sin.
Proverbs 8:13.
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Proverbs 16:6
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil
We know through scriptures that Sin is anything that is contrary to God and His will, thus, when we operate in the fear of God, we automatically begin to seek to please Him and that includes wanting to not partake in anything that is not His desire and will in and around us, from our thoughts to our actions.
3. The fear of God activates Long life.
Proverbs 10:27;] The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
From the scripture above, we can see that a long life is an offspring of the fear of God. We all want to live a long fulfilling life but only the fear of God operational in you can guarantee a long life, we aslo see this in;
Proverbs 14:27:
“The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death”
4. The fear of God activates the
stronghold of God.
Proverbs 14:26
“In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge”
Oh how comforting it is, that in the fear of God, we not only have confidence but a strong confidence and a place of refuge.
No matter how turbulent the storms of life would be, we have our safety and hiding place in God.
5. The fear of God activates true
wealth.
Proverbs 22:4
“By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.”
The word of God assures us of riches, honour and life when we live in the fear of God.
All the wealth we could ever need is hid in us in God, and it is activated in our lives when we operate in the fear of God.
6. The fear of God activates Stability.
Isaiah 33:6
“And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.”
The instability of the world and its economy, and the instability associated with its seasons has no effect on us as long as we operate in the fear of God.
The word of God has assured us of the stability of our times which is activated by the fear of God.
7. The fear of God activates the
secret of the Lord.
Psalms 25:12
“What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.”
How wonderful it is to be taught the secret of the Lord by God himself!!
When we operate in the fear of God, we instantly activate God’s classroom where He teaches secrets and best life directions.
Oh Hallelujah!
He has the best directions, and He will tell you what way is right.
8. The fear of God activates angelic
visitations and open faculties.
Acts 10:2-3
“A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway.
He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.”
Cornelius who was not even saved feared God and he was activated into spiritual encounters and visitations.
Imagine how much encounters awaits you as a believer when you begin to operate in the fear of God.
9. The fear of God activates the
blessing.
Psalms 128:1-2
Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
The Word of God promises blessing to him who fears God. So, your blessing is tied to you fearing God.
Not feeling blessed enough? Fear God and your blessings will be activated.
There are some deep and powerful promises of God that move from being just promises into active reality, when we operate in the fear of God.
So, check through your life, check through your spiritual walk with God, have you begun experiencing these in your life?
